As its not that far off now, thought I’d summarise the arrangements in one place.

No-one commented on the other threads, so I’m assuming everyone’s ok with everything    .

Currently, matt and I should both be able to come - Tess has volunteered to babysit. How come we're starting so late? I thought the plan of being on a bank holiday meant we could start earlier - is someone working?

Personally I have no problem with starting earlier (obviously I can't speak for others).

I'd be happy for anything about 4.30 onwards.

Obviously we're co-ordinating quite a lot of people, I'll ask around on Monday see what the opinion is.

Chatted to the participants, the following was the result:

Time changed to 4.30 for 5.00pm

Owen's is dropping out, his place will probably be taken by a friend of Wolves Matt.

This is of course assuming that can we still go ahead on the 25th.

I suppose it's a bit debatable if we'll have time tonight given the location discussion. Maybe next week? We probably also need to bear in mind that the new location may not allow us in early, we'll see.

So after the first meeting of the ‘Magic Council’ we hashed out the following:

As we currently have nine people, each round players will choose randomly from nine land cards (four pairs and one ‘lone land’). The people drawing matching lands will play each other and the person drawing the ‘lone land’ will get a ‘by’.

A player may not get a ‘by’ twice. If this happens all players will re-draw.

There will therefore be three people getting a ‘by’.

So to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to play the same number of matches after the three random rounds there will be a 'clean-up' round. Two of the people getting a 'by' will play each other and the other will play someone chosen at random, who will not get points from the match but will be ‘honour bound’ to try and win.

If for some reason we end up with even numbers the above will be moot.

A match between two players will consist of three duels. A point will be awarded for each victory. So if someone wins all three duels they will score three points. Or in the case of a 2-1: ‘victor’ - 2 points ‘loser’ - 1.

The four people with the highest point totals will then enter into the ‘knockout’ .

If I've made any mistakes or left anything out please post.

All the rules established for the last Booster still stand (see past threads).

Time (at the new location) will be the same as before 4.30 for 5.00pm.
