Puttting the feelers out to see if any would be interested in a game of civilisation sometime,
the game is set in europe/north africa/western asia and you start with a single token representing a tribe of hunter gatherers, and you progress this up to a civilisation with cities, ships, pottery, and eventually laws/democracy etc.

The game plays with up to 7, and takes 7+ hours.

I'd probbably be looking at a saturday, or maybe a bank holiday.

interested??

cool,
one person closer....
I'm in no rush to do this, if it takes a year to get it organised I'll wait that long...
Final date will be picked by consensus from interested players.

Another possibility if interest reains low is to play
Through the ages: A story of civilisation instead/as well

Similar build an empire from nothing, but using cards to represent technologies and no map.

Plays 2-4 and runs 4-5 hours ish, though i'm told this comes down with experience.

I'd suggest asking on a night - not everyone checks the forums, and of those who do, not everyone checks anything other than general banter...

Hey hows it going,

Me and my 2 boardgame mates would be up for playing this. I have a copy so if you want we could arrange to play it any night or weekend at one of our houses. Maybe we could incorporate some other games as well.

Let me know.

Is this original civilization: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/71/civilization

Or the version based on the computer game: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgam...meiers-civilization-the-boardgame

Either way, I probably don't have time any more.  I used to like the first one when I was at uni.
