Diplomacy - a game mostly about negotiation, alliances, and backstabbing, set in the theater of pre-world-war-one Europe.

This is a board game that works well (some would say better!) played by email/forum.  It requires 7 players - if you are interested, please say so below.

FAQ:

1. Do I need to know how to play?
No, I can run an intro session at the club, or there are many rules guides online.

2. How much effort will it be?
Around 5-30 minutes per week.  The more involved you are in the game, the longer.

3. Do I need to attend the club to play?
No, but given that face-to-face discussion can be a useful part of the game, it might help.

4. Is it complicated?
The basic underlying game isn't much more complicated than risk, and there are fewer armies.

5. Do I need to own the game?
No, not required.

6.  Am I interested?
Yes, very.

7.  Will I try and slaughter all of you in a imperialist bloodbath of colonial proportions.
Yes, I will.

8.  Do I want to play Austro-hungary?
Never!

I'll have a go if we get the numbers.

I think I played half a game of this about 15 years ago.
