I'm going to embark on tarting up the club web site and one thing that I'd like to include is a bit of a club history.

Obviously I know from about August 2006 onwards, but can anyone go back further than this, e.g. Ian or Geoff? How long has the club been going? Has it always been RPG-based?

well from when Daz the great started the club has changed alot!
i joined the club under the pretence that it was a magic the gathering club. there was the odd rpg and it was fairly rare.
there was also a few other table top gamess hapening, inc games work shop and summit with paper space ships. blood bowl was a fave with a tourneamnet happening aswell. then you lot came along and the rest is history.

The club was okay and people enjoyed it. And then Leigh joined at it became the most AWESOME place to be on the planet.

The End.

Was it you or Gabriel that came up with the idea of the forums then?  I always assumed it was him, but that timing seems a little suspicious to me?  Cool

I had nothing to do with setting up this forum. The room at the DMSC was out of action for ten weeks in mid 2006 because of a block booking by a bongo class (yes, really). The first week it was free again, a whole load of new people came along, including my group (me, Heather, Simon, Jamie, Steve, plus others). I think Mike set up the forum to facilitate communication with all of the new people, but I could be wrong.

Mike set up the forums, it was suggested just before you turned up. We were just spreadin the word when you started and we had the ten week break.

Before I turned up it was a card games club with some workshop and the very occasional RPG. The game with paper counters was thull thrust which I introduced. Once I started running every week we started seeing more and more rpg's until that is about all we get with the occasional board game.

There are people around who will be able to tell you more then me about the early days before I made it better Cool (If we want a big headed competition I will win. XXXL )

Ian

The land was barren, and the sky black
When suddenly a man arrived on a horses back
He spoke of incredible things
Things called RPGs.....

And the heretical masses full of cards and miniatures
Saw the truth of his words.......and it was good.

Sooooo... anyone want to write anything?

In fact, if you go here and create an account (top right), and then click 'create page', you can add your chronicle directly to the wiki.

Alternatively, luddites could just e-mail/PM me, or post it here.
