Hi

I've been a fantasy fan for years but have never roleplayed or been involved in a group like this before. However I was recently playing the boardgame Zombies and realised I'd really like to be doing things like this regularly. Would it be best for me to come to next Monday's session, or should I learn the rules for some of the games first? Looking forward to playing against (and hopefully beating!) you soon.

Mark

Hi Mitch

Just turn up, generally you'll either be playing a game you have never heard of or decide, like me, that rules are optional, especially in an rpg.  I run games that I dont know all the rules for.

See you soon

Ian

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You'll pick stuff up as you play.

Whether you play board games or RPGs you'll pick up the rules as you play. I've been at the club for years and still need rules explaining every week through people bringing in new games (and generally having an AWFUL memory!). In role play the rules are a little more flexible so the GM can fudge things to keep the flow of the game but everyone will make sure you know what you're up to until you get it.
Look forward to meeting you
Tess

Good to see you last night, and thanks for the game.

I hope you enjoyed it, and that you come along in future weeks!

I enjoyed the game thanks and am looking forward to coming next week. Mixed opinions about PowerGrid. The game itself was strong, but the theme wasn't the most exciting. Better that way round though I guess, as anyone whose ever had to suffer The Hobbit boardgame will happily tell you...!
