I would use the shop most if..
it was in near the town centre, Watergate Street, stone cross area of town.

it was the edge of town, Brook Street, Boughton (street past Games Workshop)

either, I would still use the shop the same amount and it wouldn't effect the amount I spend.

*** I HAD TO RE-POST BECAUSE ONE OF THE POLL OPTIONS WASN'T SHOWING UP. SORRY!!!***

This post is for a poll to get some feedback on if the location would effect your potential patronage/monies relocation.

So please vote one or the other ONLY if it would have an impact on you using the shop.

If you would use it regardless but prefer one or the other please vote for the 3rd option.

Feel free to post below on your thoughts too.

Please do vote, it will greatly assist me in formulating my plans.

Many thanks!

From my point of view, I quite often wander through town in my lunchbreak when I need to escape from the office or get baby supplies for Finn.

If you were near the cross, you'd probably see me every time I do this (oh the siren song of freshly minted RPG books). If you were out past games workshop you'd be just too far away to catch my passing traffic (ie, you'd be out of resonable walking distance from the uni for my hours lunch).

I would use it more if it was central, as I usually go to Chester with a shop in mind to visit (rarely outside the main drag) and end up spending unplanned pennies on pretties I see nearby. If you were outside this zone I may guiltily never plan to go to your shop in an attempt to save money and as such succeed.

That said I assume rates in the city centre are much higher than further afield, so if having it further out would make a massive difference to the quality of the shop you may benefit from others making planned expeditions just to soak in the atmosphere.

If there are no similar shops nearby (discounting Liverpool and Manchester) it may be worth being near the station for those people who would make a special effort to come to Chester just to visit. Being near the comic shop on Brook Street means you may get some crossover business.

A big ramble basically amounting to: In the city centre you would see more of me personally, but a good shop on Brook Street could be just as successful.

Central will get you more passing trade, edge of town you will have to pull customers to you. Its up to you what you want to focus your business on, to me central if its feasible just makes more sense.

If you set up on Bridge street rows, you'll be near the model shop and the whiskey shop, which would be a fairly good setting for pulling in the right sort of people.  Dunno what the rates are like though.

I'd use it in either location, but I think you'll get more attention if you stay central. Try to avoid going too near Gamesworkshop.

Aaron, probably should have put a map showing where they are off google or something so people can work out where the locations are in relation to train / bus station etc.

These aren't specific locations, they are just to see what people think of it. Either central, or non central basically.
