I'm hoping to run this at the club and posting here to measure interest.
To sum the game up briefly you play a group of people who have gained an affinity with an otherworldly power that allows them to alter reality to their will, limited only by their own understanding of said power. All in a modern setting. The less subtle magic is however the more likely it is to cause reality to kick back. This is called Paradox and regular humans tend to make it worse when they witness magic. Add in other supernatural beings and strange happenings that seem to haunt mages and you've a recipe for a good story (that's the plan anyway).
As a World of Darkness game Mage has a rather fluid system with an emphasis on story and roleplay over mechanics. You can potentially create any character and have fun with it. Not every mage is a weedy brainbox who flings energy bolts at their foes. You can do anything from altering and enhancing your physical abilities or physical objects to messing with peoples heads or altering fate. And yes more traditional energy manipulation and such are in there.
The emphasis of the game really depends on what you guys want. It can be anything from politics to action/adventure or a mix of things. Just expect a general themes of mysticism, seeing things others cannot and transcendental symbolism.
So whose interested? Any questions?
If there's sufficient interest I'll be looking to do character generation next Monday with at least one session of play before the random shuffle. _________________ I'm here to kick ass and take names! If that's okay with everyone...
