PaizoCon UK 2012 will run from 21-22 July with a pre-event Balti Night on Friday 20 July. So get those dates in your diary. Once again we will limit numbers for the comfort and sanity of players and GMs and we expect to sell out. Watch out for further announcements in the New Year.

I realise it's early days, but who's with me? Cool

That would be awesome. That will be right in the heyday of my thesis writing, but I'd be able to give up a weekend. I'll call it a sanity break.

It's worth pointing out that PFS has got into the pattern of having year-long metaplots, with the season being kicked off at Gen Con in August, and coming to a climax at PaizoCon (and PaizoCon UK) in July. In 2011-12, it's the Year of the Ruby Phoenix, and if you take a look at this page, you will see certain scenarios have a Ruby Phoenix logo in the top-left of the cover, indicating they form part of the season's story.

I intend to run a number of these scenarios (and others not yet released) over the coming months, and PaizoCon UK will be the first opportunity to see how this overarching story concludes.

I'm planning on going - it was spectacularly good last year.

Paul.

I know some people have said they're interested in coming, but who is ready to commit imminently? Places booked up pretty quickly in 2011; there are the same number of places in 2012 and significantly more interest, so I expect it to book up even sooner.

There are a few things to consider:

1) Do people want to arrive on the Friday, or travel down early on Saturday? Going down on Saturday means being tired (especially those who drive) but means only having to book one night of accommodation, rather than two.

1a) If people want to go down on the Friday, do they want to go to the Balti buffet?

2) Do people want to book rooms at the conference centre itself, or a cheaper option nearby? The conference centre only has single & double rooms, and the single rooms are at least £37/night right now, and with limited availability. There are cheaper options nearby (e.g. Campanile at £35/night for a twin room). Having said that, it's a late finish on Saturday and an early start on Sunday, and I appreciated just being able to take the lift down to the games, rather than have a 10-15 min. walk through Birmingham.

I'm definitely going. Or at least I've sent my cheque off. I'm dragging down my mate Steve so hopefully we're all booked in.

We're staying at the conference centre, going down Friday afternoon in time for the Balti Buffet.

I can really recommend the buffet - not only was the food really tasty, but it was a superb friendly atmosphere. The chance to meet most of the people you're going to be gaming with before the con starts is one of the things that makes PaizoCon special.

I'm still down. I will see about getting everything booked this weekend when things settle down. I've never been to Birmingham, but I'm not adverse to a 10-15 minute walk if it means substantial cost savings. If the prices are close, however, I'd rather spend a little extra for convenience.

@Paul--Going down on the Friday and hitting the buffet is my plan as well.

For the purposes of filling the form in, I would imagine that the people who started late last year will have one PC in the level 5-6 range and another at 3-4 by the time we get to July.
