Some one I know on another forum is considering making a tabard for a costume party. Since you lot have made tabards I said I'd ask if there was any advice/useful links any of you have that I can pass on.

As far as I know this person doesn't have any costume/kit making experience. I'm sure anything would be appreciated as they are currently trying to figure out whether it would be too difficult.

Or two pieces of material, make sure they are thick enough to not show the other colour through. And sew them together in a vagley tabbard shapped way.  

For a symbol either sew(hard) or paint(not as hard) it on.
