The way I'm going to run the game is I will post the story with pauses in it in case you want to take any actions, tests or ask questions. Feel free to ask for clarifications in the OOC thread if you don't quite get something.

With each of my story telling posts I will give a date & time for which will be the closing point for a response (typically this will be 5 days for out of combat and 1 day for in combat. Subject to change from player feedback). At which point I will make all the rolls and give feed back based upon the results (typically being 2 days for out of combat and 1 day for in combat).

If you do not like the dice result rolled, you may request a re-roll in line with the fortune point section detailed below.

When you complete certain actions which I have already noted down you will be awarded XP, which you may spend on the Tier 0 Space Marine chart below. IF you manage to complete the chart below you've physically become a full Space Marine, what that entails you'll have to wait and see, but my game is planned past that point if players are interested.

Game Rules

1. Play your own character - Please stick with playing with your own character and not go about telling other people how to play theirs. Everyone gets to enjoy the game that way. (Asking for aid or covering fire is a reasonable action, just it may not come straight away).

2. Player activity - If you don't get a response in before the requested time you will either be assumed to have stuck with the group plan if non-combat related or done the minimum activity to stay alive if combat related. You may nominate someone else to look after your character if you are planning on being away for a period of time and cannot play. If you are inactive for 2 weeks, you may be dropped and a replacement player found.

3. Player Colours - Everyone gets a colour to represent what the character is saying (first come first served basis). I as the GM reserve red as my official GM text when editing posts and will use other colours that are unselected by players for NPCs. Black will be excluded for (hopefully) obvious reasons.

4. Keep OOC & IC separate and use them appropriately - Feel free to discuss what you want to do in OOC, however you may be prompted to bring discussions into the IC thread if I feel that the discussion would be something that may be discussed in game. (Space Marines would actually talk about tactics and other matters in 'real life').

Fortune & Fate Points

I've borrowed terminology out of another game to give you fortune points to represent temporary Fate points (ones you spend but do not burn).

You start with Fortune points equal to your fate points and may spend them to:

Gain +10% to a roll prior to rolling
Gain a re-roll
Gain an additional degree of success after rolling
Gain 1d10 wounds
Remove a level of fatigue

If you can display that your action that you are spending the fortune point on is in line with your Demeanour, the bonus is doubled. For the re-roll I will count that as rolling 2 dice on the re-roll and letting you choose the result.

I will inform you when Fortune points are reset, but this will be at pre-arranged points in the story arc I have come up with.

Tier 0 Space Marine Upgrades

When you gain XP, you may select from this table what you wish to spend it on. Each upgrade, with the exception of Sound Constitution, may be purchased only once.
