It's all hotting up in Europe this season, with conflict breaking out all over the board.  The orders looks like this written down:
Austria: F alb Supports  A apu -> gre
Austria: A tri Supports  A vie -> bud
Austria: A vie -> bud
Austria: A ser Supports  A vie -> bud
England: F lon -> eng
England: F iri Supports  F lon -> eng
England: F eng -> pic
England: A bel Supports  F eng -> pic
England: F nwy Holds
France: F bre Supports  F mao
France: F mao Holds
France: A mar -> bur
France: A par -> gas
France: A pic -> par
Germany: A ruh -> bur
Germany: A mun Supports  A ruh -> bur
Germany: A bur -> par
Germany: F bal -> swe
Germany: F den Supports  F bal -> swe
Italy: A ven Holds
Italy: F tys Supports  F ion
Italy: A apu -> gre
Italy: F ion Convoys  A apu -> gre
Russia: F swe Supports  F nwy
Russia: A war -> gal
Russia: F sev -> bla
Russia: A bud -> ser
Turkey: A rum Supports  A bud -> ser
Turkey: A gre Supports  A bud -> ser
Turkey: F aeg Supports  A gre
Turkey: F eas -> ion
Turkey: F con -> bul/sc

And like this lovely image in pictorial form:

Starting at the left of the board, in France, bur and pic bounce in paris, leaving it empty.  Ruh-bur would overpower mar-bur, but you can't dislodge your own unit, so nothing happens.  eng gets into pic, which has no available retreat (paris, although empty, was contested), so is disbanded.

In the North, Sweden is forced to retreat under attack from germany, and chooses bot

In the South, the attack on gre fails, as although support is given from alb and ion, the support from ion is cut by eas, so it's 2 vs. 2.  Bud succeeds against ser with support from rum, and ser has no possible retreats and is disbanded.

That leaves this situation:

Austria has 3 centres and 3 units: no build
England has 5 centres and 5 units: no build
France has 5 centres and 4 units: 1 build
Germany has 6 centres and 5 units: 1 build
Italy has 4 centres and 4 units: no build
Russia has 5 centres and 4 units: 1 build
Turkey has 6 centres and 5 units: 1 build

Please submit builds to me via PM by midday tomorrow (Thursday 16th), and I'll post the situation then.

Am I correct in understanding that in theory there should be no diplomacy before build orders are submitted?

I am happy to honour that understanding.

Austria doesn't keep to his deals, who here is really that surprised? Watch out Italy, you have an ally who will quite happily stab you if feels like it.

Interesting development in the North between Germany, England and Russia; I wonder how that will go in future seasons.

France just seems to be backpedaling. Good luck at holding on in there!

That's how the rules are written, although I believe that's largely because of time when playing face-to-face.

That's the way I understood things and I am happy to keep to that arrangement.

Given that Turkish units were supporting Russian units in Austrian territory, I am interested to know what type of labyrinthine agreement you had in place...

I said if he stuck to his side I had no problem with it. I took it he didn't want me to support Russia holding bud and I said I wouldn't and stuck to that.
