I have received a text from John at Diva's saying that they won't be open this monday. They have apologised, however the reason given is that they are losing money as it costs more to staff the bar than they actually make.

If this really is the case then I assume they will be asking for more money or otherwise that this will be a long-term cancellation.

I will keep you up-to-date as I know.

Please, please text anyone you are aware does not use the forum or only occasionally.

I have been advised that we will no longer be able to use Diva's as a venue.

Ah, that sounds rather worrying news    

I suppose we could relocate for the short term in the catholic club, but it's not really a long term solution.  Nor really is the town crier.

Suggestions for any alternate venues for this monday and on a longer term basis?

I can host one group at my place, but that isn't much help for the club as a whole.

It's a shame we don't have a venue. I can't say I'll miss the deva, but it will be difficult to find a venue with as many advantages (low cost, serves drinks, close to the station). We may have to compromise on some of these in the near future.

Please dont speculate on what is happening, it just start rumours.  Me and Tess are meeting up in a bit and we are going to take a look at what we can get.  We will make an announcement on here when we have something.
