anouther message for ian!Do you still have those arms that were made for the first gathering?
Thyere small flimsy ones with metals strips and wrapped in the brown material.
Do you know the ones?
i have an idea for them as well as a gambeson but it might not work so im not gona say what it is because i may look stupid.
Ive also got an idea for a slightly different surcoat. If i made one that was different would anyone object to it? It would be more of a tabard than a surcoat. I just want to try it out and see how it looks. If people would rather us all wear the same style jacket thats fine.
After my exams ill start work on theese minor projects. Ill probally do them at home so i wont be taking up room or time at your house. If i do try to make theese though theres a few things id like of you.
Daz's List of things!
Arms (mentioned above)
White material (if any spare)
Red material (if any spare)
Brown material (if any spare)
Sewing machine (if i could borrow one of yours that would be great because i cant work mine)
Red cotton (if any)
Brown cotton (if any)
A few spare small rivets.
If you could let me know which of theese you have i can start planning and buyiong in the materials.

Got Some
A few spare small rivets.
Got plenty
I come up with plenty of stupid ideas. The point of the group is that when one comes up with stupid ideas the others can work out sensible ways of doing them.

The idea ive had is to buy two cheap large plain long sleeve t-shirts from asda and stuff them. Ill then sew them together and hey presto a gamberson, hopefully. Ill also line it in the brown material and hopefully itll look like the opne you have at the moment, except with arms.
If it works i can add padding to the underneath of the arms and if i remember correctly i think the arms have a little strip where they could be attatched to the gamberson either by thred or by riiting. Then the arms wouldnt move! Hopefully with the double padding under the arms itll puff them out so they could count as heavy armour.
If it works it may be possible to easily atttch the pauldrens to the shoulders so that they wouldnt move.
What do you think?

We did consider it. T shirts are designed to fit by stretching, when you have sewn them togehter they wont stretch and will restrict your movement quite a bit.
I was actually considering buying a cheap shirt and trying something similar. You need something that isnt a stretchy material for it to work. Attatching pauldrons etc is what they are designed for.

What do you think about the new tabbard idea ive had or would you rather us all where surcaots?

I would prefer surcoats but its your call. I would steer away from a tabbard for you for now. You could make it for someone else or use it when you get slotted, gives you an extra option. not sure its a good idea to change your look too much.
