As promised here are the details of the latest Ara Goth night in Manchester. It's held at the Sacred Trinity Church in Chapel Street. It is a club night and yes, it is in an actual working church - the two coincide perfectly somehow and the atmosphere is fantastic. For those that booze, you can bring your own booze as there is no bar but drinks can be consumed. It's also only a fiver. There is a website, but it's hard to find and a little opaque, so here is some information from the Meetup listing:

I love it to bits With a carload of people we worked it out at about £5 each for petrol with 4 people. I've been stung twice before when people have let me down at the last minute having said they'd pay to go in a minibus, so for now I wouldn't be prepared to organise that without cash upfront, but we can get an 8 (or 9, not quite sure) seater one for £90 both ways. So a bus is more expensive but we sometimes do it if no car drivers are able to go.
Anything else I can think of, I'll let you know
