Blood SwordI'm keen to run a game of Blood Sword, which is a multiplayer, RPG-like adventure gamebook. Think D&D mixed with Fighting Fantasy. The game takes up to 4 adventures of different classes, and there is a fully-fledged encounter-map fighting system.
I think this would suit those who like the dungeon-crawling aspects of D&D-style RPG, but don't mind (or would prefer) to have somewhat limited options on what to do. Also, it would probably not suit anyone who doesn't like the sound of my voice, as there will be more reading-out than a traditional RPG.
The first book is self-contained, but I have no idea how long it would take - I'd guess 2-3 weeks. However, I'd be comfortable with abandoning it if it doesn't work very well!
Would anyone be interested in this?

Yes, although I would run it with a couple of tweaks.

I'm not at the club tonight (and unlikely to make it next week) but I'm willing to give it a go, if you're OK to hang on that long.

Yes, I'll happily wait. It requires 3-4 players, assuming it will work with Leigh being later, I'd say we have 1 and a half so far Any more takers?

Ummm, I was gonna join Owen's game, but I'll give this a go instead - I've not set up a character for the other one so I don't think it'll be a problem

Ok, if we can find 1 more player we can start tomorrow night if we're all there. If not, we can board game.
Paz - it would be helpful if you could supply your rollup grid board and a handful of minatures. Otherwise we'll be using kangaroos and some hastily-drawn grids on bits of paper.

4 characters (Warrior, Sage, Trickster and Enchanter) and assorted monsters - I don't think we'd ever need more than 10 in one go, but variety might be cool.

After a little reading, the best way to finish is:
1. In the temple, attack the medusa creature straight away. She's quite hard, but nothing like the giant.
2. In her treasure is some kalium
3. Add this to the giant as you assemble him for an instant win and cool bonus stuff.

Next book? So, did people enjoy this? Any feedback? Would people like to do the next book at some point?
From my perspective, I think it would work better if limited to about 2 hours a night - my voice doesn't hold that well for 3 hours. This would also mean Mr Tumnus wouldn't miss any.

Sorry about the lack of feedback honey, I enjoyed it, though I am used to having a bit more freedom of choice. I think it would work really well as a way to introduce people to roleplay

Just for the record, I recently acquired book 4, so I now have the complete set!
I'd happily run this again (starting with book 1) if a suitable group wanted to.
