Chester Games Club AGM 2012 (23/01/12)Hello and thank you for all those of you who attended the AGM last week. I apologise for the delay in putting up the minutes, the last couple of weeks have not been brilliant
The following topics were discussed and agreed upon:
Formal announcement of age policy:
For as long as we remain at the Forest House, attendees of the club must be 18 or over.
Vice Treasurer:
It was unanimously decided that with the absence of subscription fees, the position of Vice Treasurer was no long needed. The security fund of £50 was handed from the former Vice Treasurer to myself until a more formal policy has been set up (see below)
Local Convention:
It was confirmed that the Chester University Roleplaying + Games Group is working on a convention, but progress is slow. Annoyinglizardvoice will provide updates on that as required.
In the meantime, Paz has generously taken up the role of seeing if a "Devacon" (i.e. our convention) can be established. Please see this section of the forum for details. Any offers of help would be warmly appreciated.
Money:
The club currently has a fund of around £130, £80 of which held by annoyinglizardvoice, and £50 held by myself. It was suggested that the money as a whole should be moved to a joint signature account requiring the signature of two committee members to withdraw. However, the point was made and agreed on that the exact nature of the account should be discussed and agreed upon the forums before any action is taken.
Paz has mentioned that the renewal for the domain name for our website is due for renewal in August. The cost is £6/two years. There were no objections to this being deducted from club funds at the time.
The club has occasionally in the past supported part of the cost of some board games with the understanding that they were brought to the club when requested. (Werewolves is the most prominent example). It was agreed to keep this as a case by case basis, but with no income coming in, approvals will probably be the exception rather than the norm.
Forums:
Finally, it was mentioned that the forums can occasionally be difficult to check if do not come on them often, and there are many visible threads from a year or more older. This thread by Paz should hopefully address those concerns.
Given that the past few months have been more quiet on the forum front, I will leave this thread unlocked in order to answer any questions or clarifications that come about on this hastily written thread.
