ElectricsNeed someone to check my maths. Plus we need a call on this if we are gonna do this soon.
First
Battery: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12v-LEISURE...PageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Lights
http://www.anchorsupplies.com/leds.htm
Its the 3 watt hyper LEDs, Im thinking 10 of them.
Now by my calculations that battery will run all the lights for 34 hours. Someone check this for me.
We will need switches and wires as well, plus a Geoff to do the soldering wiring for us.
DO we want that battery. We need a call on it soon, how high will we go? The lights will be £35 if they are in stock. If not the battery will do whatever else we want to do. Its second hand but it dosent look to bad.

While I know nothing about whether you guys need the battery, the calculataions were of interest to me.
Battery life=Capacity(Amphous)/current (Amps)
The capacity of the L85 appears to be 85Amh (though they should of made that clearer IMO)
I=P/V
The power of each LED is 3W (each one recommends (3.5-3.8V, but I will assume that it gets that as required by wiring them as recommended). (10*3)/12=2.5A of current
Battery life=85/2.5=34, so I see no flaw in that calculation. I'm not an expert at electronics, but the fact I have the same answer is reassuring!

The lighting is almost sorted, we have bulbs(probably be ok), we need wire (dirt cheap) and a battery
We are looking for a 12V leisure battery, at least 85Ah better will be 110. We are looking at £70 for one of these online, anyone got a better idea. We are pricing second hand car batteries but they wont last long in the cold with a slow drain on them. Same problem with batteries from component shop.
We need ideas for this now as we have 2 weeks until the next event.

I'd have to check but UI think my leasure battery is 110 and cost us around £40, have a look at the camping and caravaning shops around Cheshire, there are a few around Winsford.

Yea prices went up recently apparently cause of metal prices. I did see some last year for £40, now the cheapest even online seems to be £60 odd for a 110ah. Still looking but we spent an hour on it last night.

No one with any suggestions?
Just found out Geoff is tied up this weekend, chances are I wont have time to build the chandelier before the event. However we will all need to put up some cash for the batterywhen we go for it.
