Event attendance and kit

We are running short on time(again) for kit making. Who is planning on going to what events and what do they need? One post each and I will make a list. I will price up for stuff we can do now and talk to people about it on Monday. We need to start on the shields asap.

For me:

Attending most/all mainline events.
Needs:
Helmet(as everyone but daz)
shield
leg armour
Arm armour
Gamberson/arming coat
Haskeer

have all the kit for nex event but some of it is looking a bit shabby.
dead

Post what is shabby as wanted but not required. Can you int the two J's at the thread.
Gabriel

Attending ALL events this year,
only needing a beastkin compatible helmet, wich i'm likely to buy one of the ones that are being shown at last years events

WANTED: leather working kit for making leather armor to slowly incorporate into my character (but thats something different all together)

Needed: money to pay Ian back for the gathering (will pay you when i can)

MAIN POINT of this post: i'm coming to all events and need nothing... aint i clever... Very Happy
Haskeer

Armour will last only 1 more event i think. Saying that i thought it wud only last one more event two events ago. Shield but the ones we have should be ok. Arms but i have ones i can live with and finally the surcoat but agen my one shud be good enouth for now.
2 problems this time.
Lack of time
Lack of money.
Im not gona make anything new untill i can afford it wich may be some time wich is why if i am to make it to the campaign event then my kit will have to do.
Mike will u be coming to the dragons only event or just the main ones?

List of stuff

Stuff that needs to be done. In priority order what do people think.

Surcoats for new people

Cant do till we know who they are, sashes only for the mercs

Tent reinforcements
Gonna cost some money which I will be asking people for. Basically a CENSORED load of ratchets and some tarps to reinforce the bottoms of the walls.

Armour for new people
They will need it. Do we stick with the brown Armour or go fr a more flexible approach. I like the uniform look.

Helmets
I have   Shocked  spent some money (£2.61) on a helmet pattern. Its pretty and not far from what I am working on. This will be my main project this year.

Shields for everybody
Waiting for quotes on the foam for them now. Have an idea for a design but need to test it.

Lighting for tent
We know how to do it but we cant afford a leisure battery(£80 min). Des anyone have one that we can borrow for events?

Standards/set dressing for tent
Ideas for what we can do t make it look less like a party tent? Keep them cheap

Torch for Dollys Arse
Says it all really

What have I missed?
Haskeer

torch for dollys arse
John

Set dressing for the tent, try an airbed covered with sheepskins and add a hung over Merc Wink Wooden boxes for kit and candles/lamps, jugs and plates (pottery, clay or wooden) and maybe a standard outside.

Update on where I am with Kit

One helmet will be finished tomorow. It will need polishing and then can be riveted together. Second and third helmets are a little way behind. I need a spare pair of hands when im working on these they can also polish them when I dont need them to brace things. If you polish a helmet Twisted Evil you get 2nd dibs on which one you get (I get first as I made them).

I have another set of bracers 50% done, we should have enougth heavy arms for the next event then.

Command tent still needs the reinforcements and vicious nasty stab wounds sorting. When are people free to do the work?

Anyone looking at the shields still?

Ian
John

Ian drop me a txt with your addy and I will pop over tuesday evening to give you a hand (if you will pardon the pun) (actually sod it I don't give a damn if the pun is paroned or not Twisted Evil ) polishing your helmet Rolling Eyes To be honest unless you plan on polishing until the metal is "white" you are better off leaving them "forge black" as then the metal won't rust.
dead

I dont have anywhere indoors to work and polishing is a little bit dirty so Tuesday nights wont work for now for metal work sorry Confused  When it lighter at night then we can work then. The helmets are a little rough anyway, will look fine but I can do better, I will for the next batch.

They are already covered in scratches from the work we have already done so leaving them with the scale on wont look that good. Plus shiny is good Very Happy

MK1 Helmet is way too wide for any of us so will require some "resizing" Mk2 and 3 are much better proportioned. I will get the frames ready for polishing next weekend. After that We will need them all polishing and riveted together before I do the panels.

Ian
Haskeer

too wide for youre head!!!!!!
NEVER!!!!
Is that possible?

Could we use it for a metal pair off pants for weston?

You know, sometimes people can go to far, well Daz can Evil or Very Mad

Who fancies some weapons training, I think Ill do some Escrima Demos, with machetes. Daz can help me    Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

Helmet is half resized. I only had too take two inches out of the width. Looks much better proportioned, just need to "trim" the steel somewhat and its done.

Ian

p.s. Ill speak to the weed tommorow.
Haskeer

hahahaha,  im only joking
Death Jester

well you know im willing to help out, just need it planned a way in advance.
dead

Next sat you ok to help? I will skip training if we can get a solid day in.

Individual jobs we need to do for the next event:

1. Polish Helmet rims
2. Rivet Helmet rims
3. Polish Pannels for Helmets
4. Fit Pannels for Helmets
5. Repair vandalism to the command tent
6. Fit skirt to the command tent
7. Repairs/alterations to the surcoats
8. Make hoods for any monsters
9. make sure we all have scabbards/holsters for weapons
10. check armour for repairs/maintence
11. Finish my new set of arms Very Happy

1-4 need to be done in order, only one or two people can work on it at a time. The rest can be worked on by multiple people. If we can get 3 people down to mine if the weather is decent we can have 2 working on the command tent/sewing and two working outside on the helmets.

If the weather is decent who is up for next sat?

I would like to get eerybody in full kit to see what they still need within the next 2-3 weeks.

Ian
Jimmy

if im not workin sat(rota not up yet) count me in 4 sum metal work Very Happy

nice kit resource.

Metal work will be shared out to everyone, it is hard work and dirty.

Anyone got a workbench we can borrow for the day, plus a spare decent drill would be useful as I only have one and need it to fit the helmets together and to polish.

Ian (Bored in work with too much to do)

I mean as an idea if we ever want to hide kit. Never seen anything like it.

Besides there "large" and then theres "Large". Guess where I fit. XXXL Hat size I think it was, one step down from the biggest they ever make.

helmet Woes

We have one helmet which needs riveting, but is otherwise done. One problem is it does not fit me. The second one we have a problem with the shaping but I can probably fix that. I need a hand with the polishing and cutting. I am not going to do any more work on other people kit if they are not there to help.

If we do the work we can probably have both done for the event but we need to move on it. Who is planning on helping?

Ian
Haskeer

can do the sat before the event. till bout 4ish.
Working this saterday overtime so i can get the event off.
