Hi Howdy and howareya from Leigh Woosey

Hi there,

Googled my way here and am taking the time to say hi. I am looking to get back into games after a brief dalliance with Warhammer and D&D in my teens. Hoping to find something that is fun and relaxed and doesn't require downloading three gigs of patches over an internet connection every month! Also flatmates, but I will post about that on the general thread later. Hope to meet some of you soon!

Welcome! Hopefully you've already seen this post with they key bits of info about the club in.

The games are almost always fun, although there's nothing relaxing about being sealed in an underground cavern crawling with zombies... Cool

Are you meeting up tomorrow night? Would that be a good time to come and say Hi?
paz

I just replied to your PM; there is a session tomorrow night. I won't be coming along, as I'll be on holiday, but plenty of people will be there.

Hello there!

Pleased to meet your (electronic) aquaintence!  I am Chris, relative newcomer to the club.

I can't really add much to what Paz has doubtless already told you and what you can find on the forums.  Bank holidays (usually) seem to be board game nights, though my (I don't think 'my' is right but I can't think of a better pronoun) group is contining it's campaign.

All I can really add is that I found everyone warm and friendly when I started a month ago and was really pleasently surprised by it's lack of cliquéiness!

See you tomorrow  Very Happy
Chris.

You just don't know what the clique are yet, Chris. You'll have to wait for the Halloween initiation ceremonies... Twisted Evil

Welcome to the forum, Leigh. I've not been down the club for a while (pressing RL concerns), but I'm sure I'll be back as usual in about a month, when I'm settled into my new home (and possibly new job). I'm originally from London, came up at the end of 2004 after a period of not playing table top games for years, and the club (and a small group of friends I made when I came up here, before joining the club) got me back into gaming in a big way. It's a really friendly group of people.

Anyhow, I'll catch you sometime on the forum, if not down the club for a while,

Simon (the first one)*

* It's a running joke since there are two of us - you may also want to watch out for the 27 or so Matts at the club.
