Death Jester

How did it go?!

Spill thy beans!
Jimmy

was a great event and not only did I somehow manage to survive, dispite Ian's intentions, I am now the proud owner of the Sword of Wynach (sp?)

going to be soooo busy finding out things this year!
Jimmy

on a less personal note it seemed as if everyone had a great time regardless of player death, which always comes as a shock to some. Fun was had by all. I shall let someone else add more detail and so shall I when i'm not so tired
Death Jester

looking forward to it...there who bought the farm?
Jimmy

bought the farm? what?

and others can add to this also I need to think first and try to recall all. would be better if we could talk in person, shame
Death Jester

Meaning died. But I already know a couple of the deaths.

Come on!!! Tell meeee things!
Jimmy

Deaths were:

Brennus, I believe I got to him 30 seconds too late

Captain Hugh Oakwood, chopped up into many many pieces whilst in a tent on his own

Aeber, charged ahead of the line and faced the consequences

Boars, dont know the details

Laoch de Toirnach, man of Slieve, killed, wasted, raised as undead and sent to fight his own unit.

Osman, beheaded after being dragged across the length of our front line, for some reason noone shouted that they had him...

Monkey, skirmished too far behind enemy lines, we couldn't reach him

Vedran (skunk), same as monkey i believe

Roth, bled out on the final field of battle, whilst his fellow fey mocked him

Berrach, same as Roth

I believe that is the complete list, feel free to correct me.
Death Jester

I am not sure I know all thoe names but I have pictures of most of the people who died so I know that way.

What happened story wise?
Shaphron

Friendly warning: my concept of time is a bit warped in my memory - I remember events, but sometimes have toruble remembering what order they happened in, or what day they happened on. I will outline events as I think they happened, people can correct if I get days or order wrong! I have no idea when some poeple died, I only know a couple of times...

1st day - Thursday: Dragons spent fisrt evening deciding what to do with the 4 armies of ireland and the 4 of wales (is it erin and cymria?) in their master plan. Decided that bringing the 4 armies of wales out of wales was a BAD IDEA, given the encroaching of the evil undead horde (forget the name) and Hafgan's stuff in the south. Sent them home. Planned for the Erin army to goto, dammit, I forget the name of the county - and I played about 3 NPCs from it too! - some county with lots of wild woods, where the tangle wood ritual circle was. This ritual circle was in control of Balor's Formorii, and with it they could teleport straight into some city, which was bad, so the dragons needed to gain control of this circle. Plan made - dragon warband themselves teleport to transport circle a couple of miles away, secure area and hold it until armies reach them.

Day two, Friday. Dragons portal in, get to village in record time, go onto ritual circle straight away, secure the area. All goes well. Meet NPCs from the resistance or "true militia", who have spent the past 2 years resisting Balor's advances. From an initial group of 40+ people, now down to about 7. Get filled in on local conditions, roleplay commences. Get attacked by local, Balor-controlled militia and wild fey throughout day, some nasty things out at night. Someone died - I forget who - and came back as a very funny goblin character.

Day three, Saturday. I believe this was the day that the resistance lead a party of 20 (counted out by the trolls - took ages!) dragons to a place where they had heard harp music and seen loads of zombies. As these had nothing to do with the fight against Balor the reisistance wasn't interested, but thought the dragons may have been. Dragons investigated, got to place with harp, walked right past it, twice, without seeing the very obvious harp, sitting in plain sight atop a large rock with harp music coming from behind it. Refs think dragons stupid, hit them with more zombies. Dragons eventually suceed in aquiring the harp of rhiannon - needed to kill hafgan. I believe this was also the day the dragons investigated the burial mound of Wynach, local hero with huge sword. Find fake(?) sword planted by evil necromancer (I believe this to be the case, I wasn't directly involved with this part - Josh could probably fill you in better with what happened to get the sword). Think it is real for a short time. Also, local peasents from a village 5 miles away come into camp, are warned that some dragons would kill them on sight for being neutral, and were given food to take home with them. The peasents were also assured that the local people would be able to choose their own king, and not have to have Aber. Aber was unaware that this was promised. Nasty things happen at night. Oakwood asasinated today. Brendon chooses to monster the rest of the event.

Day four: Sunday. I'm fairly sure today was the day the dragons got attacked by the *evil undead things attacking the whole world*, but it might have been yesterday... Anyhoo, Dragons foolishly did not guard the ritual circle at all, so undead things telepoted 45 enemies in, started a ritual to learn the pathways of light in the area (so they can subsequently turn everything there to undead) and attacked the dragons to delay them in stopping the ritual. Attack was great fun (as a monster) and we came close to killing a couple of poeple. Mosters didn't regen, and there was much grumbling about spending close to half an hour (if not over) getting us all make-uped once (all in black, with coloured markings denoting cast) for just the one encounter, when some monsters died straight away. Turns out the dragons had loads of silver, which was all that could kill us. Ritual was succesful, so area could well be doomed. Also today some formor turned up leading militia / fey groups (the militia/fey attacks continued throught the whole event, not just when I menton them!). This was the first formor the dragons had seen since arriving. Hang on, I'm actually now sure that the *evil iundead things attacking the whole world* first attacked yesterday - saturday - because on sunday they attacked again. I wont go back and change - you can cope!  Anyhoo, they attacked again - a small group teleported into the ritual circle - still unguarded - and walked over to the dragon camp. About 150 yards away, they created a new trasport circle and summoned in about 30 more of us, who then attacked the gragons. We did respawn this time - going back in through the new trasport circle. Lots of fun had by me again, I only died once! Peasents appeared again - you feed them once and they come back - to give dragons some information, I forget what it was. Also, in the afternoon the resistance again turned up with a "new recruit" - the sleeve boy who died came back as a player. Aber died at some point, came back as another goblin. Two goblins were hilarious - at one point they nicked a cloak off another player, found a formor head (phys-rep and everything) and pretended to be a formor - one sitting on the others shoulders, faces hidden by the cloak, formor head in way, and prceeded to tease the whole faction. Troy the troll didn't like it, and went after them to kill them, very very funny. At some point Josh aquired the *real* sword of Wynach because he was *true of heart*. This sword is required for the killing of hafgan (lucky Josh) and as part of the deal that he got it, Josh now has to get a wife and children... Sunday night there were both assasins and wraiths about, and the odd attack of militia. It was tonight that warleader Osmun died - it was either the assasins or the fey who carried him off and killed him - someone did shout out that "they had Osmun", but someone else then shouted "hold the line", so the dragons didn't even try to help him. And after he had spear-headed rescue attempts when others were bleeding out behing enemy lines. Such cowardice... MArk Bateman (leader of Dragons, forget name of character) spent the whole day not being able o talk, as he had had some evil potion forced down his throat by "friends" - it made him more powerful, but made him lose his voice. Mark very frustrated!

Day five: Monday. This final day, dragons only had 1 huge battle - to one side they wrer attacked by recurring waves of militia and fey. When thouraghly distracted a whole regiment of formor, headed by their genral *whatisname* attacked from the rear - the dragons were not guarding the original transport circle either. At the same time as this rear attack, *the weapon* - a fey creature created by the formor genral and doing fatal - attacked with the milita and fey. Dragons managed to kill the formor genral, then the weapon. Militia and fey attacked a bit more, then legged it. Dragons victorius! Final encounter was some very tired monsters having to walk the length of the field again as dragon army NPCs to tell them that the armies were just baout to arrive. I believe the navy had all been sunk tho - the formor being fish people and being able to use corkscrews on the bottom of the boats... We then put down our tents, ate lunch, had a de-brief speech-making time, and all buggered off home, tired but happy.

I know there were ogres too - a "friendly" encounter, who went in twoce, but I can't remember what days they went in...

Sorry about getting some timing wrong - it kinda makes sense if you read it all the way through. Add more interesting things which happened!

Oh yeah, at some point - saturday or sunday, I forget which - Balor-sontrolled people also do a ritual at the still unguarded circle, creating some "despair imps". These charge into the camp, completely unarmed. As soon as they are hit, an explosion of apathy hits everyone around them, the vast majority of the dragons fighting force included. Unable to fight, or do anything more than walk, talk and sit, these dragons get herded into the tent by their fellows and left - in the hopes it wil lwear off. When it doesn't, various spells and "cuires" tried out, until someone finally tried to ocunter the spell - which works, on a one-by-one process. Dragon fighters finally back up and fighting - after the seconds and healers had withstood about 3/4 attacks by militia and fey. Lots of fun sitting in tent with people making silly jokes (I was a friendlt NPC at the time, also hit by the despair imps). The grandson of Danu managed to loose his arm when a spear fell on it, and didn't have the energy to get it healed. Very impressed by the way the healers and secondary fighters withstood the attacks, although I know that the refs did reduce the severity of the asttacks, otherwise they'd have wiped everyone out...
dead

First Ogre incounter was about as successful as the peasant one.  We arrived they told us they were here to help and not loot and pillage, then Troll asked us to go loot and pillage with them.  Didnt go on the second, was doing something else.
