Hi Every one,

My name is Matt Palmer, and I thought I'd make a thread to introduce myself. I came along to the meeting on monday with my Fiancee Michelle Harries (i'm sure she'll be along to introduce herslef here later, but she doesn't do forums much), where we played a great game of Call of cthulu.

I've been role-playing since I was about 13, and I'm currently 28, so i've been doing this a while. I Mostly play D&D, both because it was the first serious game that I bought and because it is nice an conveinient to play, but I've ran a played a great deal of different games in my time, from Old world of darkness to Marvel superheroes and 7th Sea.

I've also been involved in LARP over the years, first as a member of the Tarantulas at the gathering and at the local LRP group at university (Aberystwyth). I've been away from that for a while, but we've recently gotten involved with the local LRP group in Ellesmere port (known as Mythlarp). It's been going for about a year, and is trying to run every other week.

I'm also a semi regular blogger, at livejournal, and regularly visit some other forums such as SFx.co.uk and rpg.net and I generally use the same alias. I also play City of Heroes on the Union server.

So that's me! Looking forward to getting to know you all and playing some games.

and Glorious Leader(Apparently, not sure when that went through, I must have been away that week) Didnt go on Monday as I had just spent a week doing 3 games a day so thought a day off was in order to figure out who I was.

Welcome to the club, you met some of them Monday apparently, we'r not all that bad, just most of us. Good to see you got a game, will have a chat to you Monday and see where we can fit you in and what you are interested in.

More from Ellsmere Port, whats the attraction for roleplayers to that place. There seems to be loads of you. Very Happy

Glad you liked the Cthulhu game, even if you were the only player character to get killed. Welcome to the boards, and I'll see you in the flesh soon!

(note to self: doesn't mind being killed off in games - use to advantage in next Call of Cthulhu adventure)

) and we had a great time last Monday. Sorry it's taken me so long to say hi - I don't normally go on forums (did that in my teens) and I find it hard to find time to spend on the computer for leasure, as I'm either at work or when at home we only have the one computer between us, so we have to share...

Well, about roleplay, I didn't start until I got to Uni (unless you count computer games such as Baldurs Gate and Planscape Torment), so I don't have nearly as much experiance of different games as Matt. I've played in D&D (only 3rd ed and 3.5), old White wolf, 7th Sea, and a couple of short games which didn't have a system (and now Cthulhu!). I haven't GM'd as yet, but I am planning a campaighn for our Sunday gaming group which will hopefully be starting around June (should Matt finish his campaign by then). I've always been into Fantasy and Sci Fi, and I've read a lot in both of these genres, so I pick new ideas up quite quickly. I also do LRP, again I started this in Uni, I've not been to a big event yet as we can't afford LT, CP or Maelstrom or similar, but I have been part of a few local systems and gone to a couple of smaller events. I hope that I've bored you all sufficiently about my roleplay history, as that's about all I can think of writing on it.

Hi Matt & Shell, welcome to the club. Sorry I've not been able to say hello in person yet; I'm likely to be along on Monday.

I should probably refute some of the frankly bizarre claims of the club's lunatic fringe in the other posts in this thread, but I'm all typed out for tonight.
