KENDER....aka Laura

Hey, most of you guys may not know me or know how I got on here (what can I say, kender get everywhere Very Happy). I'm a student at Chester uni, communications officer of their roleplay society.

I go to LARP with the bunch of Dragon crazies that are on here, although a Lion myself (wolves are my second home though!) My initial character, Tirriq, was sadly and tragically lost at the Heartland Games 1106 so no one really got to meet her. My new character Erin is doing much better though and not nutting void demons then getting dragged through gates Very Happy Also, SURVIVED THE CATACLYSM! Woooooooooooo! *ahem* Anyway, I may be thinking of joining you guys.

I'm currently running a hashed together mainly rp based Werekin campaign (not just the Garou, currently my party consists of a Bastet, a Mokole, a Nuwisha, a Corax, a Gurahl and one Garou!) and as it is my first time as GM I have no idea what I'm doing, but everyone seems to enjoy it so I guess thats ok. I love the Werewolves Very Happy They so fluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuffy Very Happy

Hope to see you sometime, back to the study books!

Wow! I think that's called "throwing yourself in at the deep end" - how did a group of werekin like that come together?

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Si Smile
Tirriq

Thanks Very Happy

Yeah it really was! I probably should have gone with a normal Werewolf RP to start off with!

I wanted to get a wider spectrum of the possible werecreatures and their interactions with the Garou. I knew one of my friends desperately wanted to play a Mokole so I said to the group they can be any type of critter they wanted and shoved all the werekin books at em (seeing as my lovely fella kindly lent them to me!)

The Bastet was hard to work into the game initially but that got sorted out. Thank God SOMEONE decided to play a wolf. If no one was playing a wolf I was going to have to ask them to all be wolves and do a much longer story.

Surprisingly the group works really well, I got a Red Talon and the Gurahl doing the hard hitting stuff, the Nuwisha and the Mokole doing the social charming stuff (the Mokole occasionally hitting stuff) and the Bastet and the Corax working things out and gathering information, whenever those two have to fight they're doing all the dextrous stuff. Its pretty cool.

Although only the Nuwisha likes the Mokole...everyone else hates him!

Another odd thing about the group is that 5/6 of them chose their animal breed forms. Only the Nuwisha was homid before she changed. Its kind of odd and has lead to a load of computers being licked, chewed, sniffed, growled at and punched.

S'good fun but bloody hard work at times! Plus I don't really know rules and stuff that well so I've asked my players to write down what their character can do so that both them and I know. That way I can kind of write stuff in for them, makes it more exciting and character specific.

*breathes*

Well, I'm enjoying how its going! Are there other werewolf RP's going on in this group?
Shining Knight

Interesting mix of werekin. The Garou character must be lucky not to be lynched by the rest of them. For a first time ref It is a mamoth task bringiung in these different background strands and outlooks.

Good luck with it all anyway Smile
Tirriq

The Garou is a huge punchy Red Talon who is currently favoured by the Leadership caern's leader. She has few problems and really gets on well with the bear. A lot of them don't know about the outlooks of all the different races. For a few of them its their first time rping d10. I'm just letting them read books and slowly learn more and play their characters how they want.

For a bunch of vicious werecreatures they are actually a pretty chilled out bunch!

Thanks, I'm hoping it will go ok too! It's not going bad so far. Gotta kick some Nos out of some sewers, so they are having fun with Nos and camera mounted guns Very Happy *cackle* Very Metal Gear Solid!

Shame you didn't have any Ratkin. Of course, as chaotic guerillas of the Wyld they don't mix very well with the other more sedate breeds, but I've always kinda liked them.

The Rats get even worse (darker) in the updated World of Darkness.
Tirriq

Yeah Very Happy I was really hoping I would get a Gurahl or a Ratkin. 1/2 isn't bad Very Happy Shame there is no Ratkin, I think that is possibly what I would have been playing had I been playing in this game. I'm actually glad we have a Nuwisha, adds more of an element of fun Very Happy

They get darker? Bloody hell! Tell me more!

I got a guy that comes to RP most weeks but can't make it all the time and he hangs around while I am running my game. I don't want himto get bored SO I may well be asking him to NPC a Ratkin for me (who has yet to be introduced to the party Wink All a big part of the plot!) I think he would really enjoy it, and he wouldn't be a player so when he wasn't there I could take over.

Yohann Bravitz - Good name for a Ratkin? Very Happy

The Changing Breeds are very different to original WoD.

Werewolves are half man and half spirit (all are born human - I don't think werewolves can be born from wolves any more). The spirit and human form are mixed together from birth, and they have blood-lines much as they always did.

All the other Changing Breeds are basically spirits that work as parasites, taking over their human hosts. Spider spirits sneak into their victims when they sleep, and eat awy their brains, becoming the Werespider's brain to some extent. By contrast, Rat spirits gnaw away a person's heart, and activate the Wererat from there. Crows peck out their victims eyes, keeping them alive but controlling these disturbing eyeless pawns from a distance.

It's all very nasty. Less Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Tirriq

Its almost turning into bigger, smishier vampire as far as I can tell. I prefer the innate beast 'you've always known you're a little different' kind of thing. I'm a bit of a hippy at heart so Werewolf is the most well suited to me! Big fluffy eco warriors with big claws and teeth. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice Very Happy

Mind you, the new stuff sounds cool, although not really my thing.

It sounds pretty grizzly Very Happy

I've read that paragraph three times now, and it still means absolutely nothing to me... Shocked
