Hiya,
Just an opinion that this might be good to start up again - it was a good idea to let everyone keep track of how the kitty (mew) is doing
I shall prod the treasurer bods and get an idea if this is practical.

Perfectly practical, will start doing it again, as soon as I get proper recording book. At the moment there is no record kept of how much money we take, just a register (And a poor one at that). I've tried looking all over Ellesmere Port centre, and can find nowhere which sells proper stationary. Will have to go to Smiths in Chester, but I never actually go into chester (while shops are open), so this is taking a while. If anyone does go into chester I am looking for:
1) small (I am flexible on size) ruled notebook, good looking with nice binding, minimum of 30 lines on a page (preferably 40 or 50, I do not mind if lines are very small) OR a nice little register, if such a thing may be found.
2) An in-out money finance book, normally has 4 columns - date, description and an in and out column where you put a value. May also have a running balance column, or you may have to tot it up occaisionally. Either way works for me.
I do not mind if either book is too big to fit in the box - this does not matter to me. Any money spent on this will be refunded from club funds, provided I see a receipt.

Any progress on the register and with that the monthly money update? I am a little lost on the current progress of this.

Many apologies - I've had a proper recording book for a couple of weeks now.
Current record at beginning of May (balanced against the cash *actually* in the box) is:
£117.14
We have had quite a few new players turn up recently, we're making between £5 and £10 every week. The week after the bank holiday is being declared a free week for all who come, and if anyone wants to buy something 50%/50% please speak up, as I'm carrying around an embarrasing amount of riches each week. Having the odd free week in no way reduces the amount in the box in a real sense, it juts puts the gain on hold for a week. Within 2 weeks we've made a profit again, so we need some other way to spend the dough too...

So what are we at currently? With the 50p charge I imagine our kitty is in approximate statis, and if not it must be in a very slow decline.

Could we have an update?
Tables seem to be Ok .
What are people's opinions on lighting?

The glow from the heaters seem to be doing their job short term.
I personally feel that the end rooms need the option of extra lighting.
Argos are showing lamps from £2.99
What do you think of 002/7162 400w portable halogen worklight £14.99?

I think Gary did some clever trick and everything was well illuminated last week or the week before, IMHO, so do we still need lights?

Only in your room Gileh, in the end room there's one light, which is low enough that if you sit in front of it the game is cast in darkness... Difficlt to see, and makes it very hard for two games to be run in that room. So I owuld personally be for the purchase of a standing light (or two).
Money update: we have approx £85 in total. If you want a direct figure, down-to-the-penny, say so, otherwise I'll keep it approx.
Attendance: (ignoring the week just after conception, when everyone assumed no-one else would be turning up) we have on avarage 21-22 gamers a night. I think we could raise this to 30 comfortably (we would have to have 2 games per room, but that should be doable if the crimson throne lot don't mind sharing the room). Ideally, we would want more regualr players, as if we have a poor night att he moment we don't make enough money to cover the fee.

Approx is fine .
Personally I'm in favour of buying the lights, but this would reduce the kitty to about £55-60. Any major objections?

If we need 'em we need 'em. Go for gold.

I'm in favour. That end room really needs light from more than one direction.

I have a spare 'lightbulb on a stick'. It used to be a standing lamp until the kids knocked it over and the glass shade shattered all over the floor . It still works, and I suspect we don't want it any more (though I'll have to check with Sarah). Would the club want it, and be able to keep it in the pub?

Could be an option, ta .
Storage may be an issue, I'll ask on Monday.

I checked & storage is not a problem .
So Phil you can go ahead and bring the lightbulb on a stick, if your significant other is ok with that .
If that's ok, then we'll see what else we need.

Cool, I'll bring it on Monday, assuming I can park within half a mile of the pub

Attach a spring to the base and use as a pogo stick to shorten the journey if you park far away.

Did it not work then? Or did I miss that?

Didn't you see us all looking for a socket? It got used down the other end of the room instead.

I saw that bit, just wasn't sure what happened after that.
Thanks for bringing it in .
