Organisation

As the newly elected treasurer, I would like to organise the money more officially. I would like to purchase a proper register (or large book I can make into a register as being cheaper) and a finances in-out book so I can keep proper records of how much we take, how much we spend and what the balance is. then I have a way of checking the balance on the records against the amount we have (having an independant check is very important in finances). Would I be able to use club funds to purchase these (I am anticipating between £3 and £5) Prices can be obtained before actual purchase, but I want to know if this is something the club would be willing to use club funds for?

As assistant treasurer I would second this motion as it can only make things easier to keep track of.

If those prices are roughly correct then it is a small proportion of the pound that people pay every week (ie if 25 people, £25 taken for that one week, 20p each goes towards the £5 max estimate, £15 then pays for the room and £5 goes into the piggy bank  Very Happy )

I have no problem with it.  I suppose even if it is a problem, you could argue for it to be covered under the 50% rule.

Notepad and Spreadsheet also work, but having the right equipment would make the job a lot nicer to do.

Notepad and spreadsheet cannot be easily kept with the tin, nor easily taken to the club (no point having a register if I can only update it at home) Unless, of course, the club is willing to buy a laptop for the treasurer?

The club can put up the funds for this I'm sure.  Wink

as it is now, yes. It is possible (although unlikely) that it may get too high for the club. And paper is not bad...

Laughing It made me laugh tho!
