Re: Random Game Shuffle: Summer '10

GM: Silverback (Graham)
System: Mouse Guard
Preferred number of players: 3
Max number of players: 4
Number of sessions (First/Last/Both): Both

Brief description: Based on the Mouse Guard comics the characters mettle will be tested in a mouse sized adventure of intrigue and peril.
Shaphron

GMs I was aware of:

Josh - Cthulhu
Matt S - Eclipse Phase
Tess - Monsters and Other Childish Things
Bill - Shadowrun
??? - Serenity (sorry, I don't know your name!)

Graham - when I spoke to you you said you would prefer to run your Mouseguard game not in the shuffle, as the shuffle was for 2 weeks only. If you have changed your mind that's fine, but I am now officially confused!

Finalised dates for the shuffle: 9th and 16th of August (the 2nd and 3rd weeks of August). Picking will take place the week before (the 2nd) If you wont be here on the 2nd, but do want to take part, please tell me / pm me and I'll pick for you. If you have games you would rather not be in, tell me those & I'll veto your first pick if it is one of those games. Note - you only get 1 veto, so if your second pick is a different one of those games, I'm sorry but that's how it works.
Tess

If mouseguard takes my slot I will be officially relieved and not stress about monsters on my week off...!  Very Happy
Shaphron

Tess, we may still need you, as we need to make sure we cover all the potential players, and Graham has said he would only want 3-4 players, so I'll ask robin how many people have been coming on average, and make sure we have enough games to cover all players. So, if you and the other GMs who haven't already posted could post to give me an idea of how many players you would like, that would be very useful. And you don't have to stress - you could probably find a pre-written adventure or two online if you want help or inspiration.
Tess

OK  Very Happy  The monsters are back in the game!

..and in the cupboard.. and under the bed...
annoyinglizardvoice

If there' a shortage of games, I'm willing to run either Katzbalga (3 musketeers-style swashbuckling game) or Pigs in Space (CSI meets ESWAT, rarely anything to do with actual pigs Smile )

TornadoCreator

OK, here's a quick rundown on the game I'll be running

GM: TornadoCreator (Bill)
System: Shadowrun (3rd Edition)
Preferred number of players: 3-4
Max number of players: 4
Number of sessions (First/Last/Both): Both

Breif description: Magical Cyberpunk, set in Seattle. Characters will be unemployed on-the-edge characters, needing to take whatever jobs they can to survive, in a town run by corporate espionage. Serious (ie. non-comedy), combat heavy game.

Notes: I will have 7 pre-made characters for people to choose from, but want to keep the max number at 4 as the game can get a little dice heavy, this also gives some backup characters should someone die horribly.

Most importantly, have fun.
Shaphron

If those who have games they would like to run could post using the nifty format Josh (Jimmy) used that would be most helpful! We've got 2 weeks to get games sorted, but I need to know your game stats for it to work.

Thankyou!
paz

What happens if we have more proposed games than we need? How do we decide which ones qualify?
HDimagination

Thunderdome?
Gileh

Just a note- whatever I end up in I won't be available until 21:30. Cheers.

That's what you think! Cool

I would be interested in running a Judge Dredd game if there was interest (probably about 4 players - ideally people that I've played with before)

no offence intended but this is probably not the area you want to be posting this as people are assigned to games in a random(ish) manner. If you still wish to run can you please resubmit your game in the format provided at the start of the post, thank you

From Shell:

Due to the LT Moots and the presence of the bank holiday the dates for the game shuffle have been moved to Monday 16th and 23rd of August. Players will be picked out on monday the 9th.

We currently have a surplus of GM's atm, so we will be trying to finalise who is needed by next week.

By what method?
Haxar

Well, I'm happy to play or GM so put me down as a backup GM. Let me know Monday what's happening.

Well, best fit given the number of people who want to play and the number of players each GM wants. If that isn't clear then I'd imagine the the people who want to run games will be consulted to see what can be decided. It's not rocket science... Rolling Eyes
Silverback

I'm away next week so will be unavailable for consultation Wink
Shaphron

By a completely arbitrary method I make up - and then just tell you who's running? As Matt said, we're going to go by the numbers to start. According to Robin we have been getting an average of 25 people turn up recently, so at an average of 1 GM to 4 players, we only need 5 GMs. We currently have about 7. So i'll try to match up the numbers, see if it works out right, and if not, I'mm probably randomly decide which GMs can't run this time - trying to take into account what the GMs themselves have said (such as Haxar just saying that they're happy to play or run).

Make sense?

Um, sort of  Confused

What kind of notice will the Gm be getting if their game is not running?  I assume the 9th if that is when the draw will be made, but it's not entirely clear.

If we are going by this method I would suggest drawing a priority list now so a GM knows just how likely their game is going to be running.

I believe this answers what notice the GMs will have. For your information, next week is the 2nd. I'm assuming no-one has volunteered to run unless they have a game in mind to run, as I tend to believe people are sensible. Therefore, while I am doing my best to organise this, GMs will not *need* more than 2 weeks notice.
Shaphron

Apologies all - while I had the final GMs sorted on Monday, somehow I didn't get around to putting them on here until now....

Anyway, the GMs for the shuffle will be:

[drum roll please]

Jamie, running I'm not sure what, but for 3-4 players.
Josh, running Cthulhu, for 4-5 players.
Graham, running Mouse Guard, for 3-4 players
Tess, running Monsters and Other Childish Things, for 3-5 players
Bill, running Shadowrun, for 3-4 players.

I am hoping that Matt S1 will agree to be our substitute GM, in case one of the above doesn't turn up on the first day. If so, Matt will be running Eclipse Phase for 4-5 players.

Rob has kindly agreed to play instead, so serenity will not be running.

If the GMs could all confirm in some way that they will be here and turning up for the 16th & 23rd I would be most grateful.

I will be drawing random names next week (the 9th) so people know in advance who's in what game. Come up and bother me next week, or I will come and bother you. If you wont be here next week, but do want to play in the shuffle, please tell me & I will draw for you. Let me know in advance if you want to Veto any specific games.

With regards to Paz's worry about gaming with the same people, I will make sure that you know who else has been drawn to play in the game you get as well as who the GM is, so you can decide to veto a game if you want to play with someone different. I'm hoping that it wont otherwise be a problem.

Any other queries, please let me know!
paz

Is anyone in contact with Jamie? I'd like to know what he's running.
Tess

GM: Tess
System: Monsters and other Childish Things
Preferred number of players: 4
Max number of players: 5
Number of sessions (First/Last/Both): Both

Breif description: Your 'imaginary friend' isn't as imaginary as your parent thought, infact (s)he is a big destructive monster faithful only to you. You would love to keep your monster out of mischief, ooh but that mischief is jut so tempting!   Twisted Evil
Silverback

I won't be there on the 9th as I'm in Doncaster. Will be there on the required dates unless something crops up.
TornadoCreator

Just confirming Shadowrun will be going ahead. I will have a choice of pre-made characters for everyone and a brief description of the setting/rules for people new to the game. Should be fun...
Silverback

I'm now back in the area and in dire need to read up more of Mouse Guard Very Happy

Just an additional note from Tess: It'll help to bring D10s if you can.
