We have said from the beginning that we are invite only which is fine. however I am proposing removing the rule where prospective members have to attend events before we let them join. Instead replace it with a rule that all of the active members have to know the people and be happy with them joining.

This may cause some friction if we don’t invite someone in the club who wants to join but it is unlikely at present. But we will gain new members faster, which with the poor showing at the Gathering I think is essential. We have gained no recruits this year and have no definites for next year, this is not good especially if some people are potentially gonna disappear soon.

This poll is open to active Children of Phedes only and I need a vote off everyone before we make the decision. I would rather it was unanimous.

i'm voting against the idea of everyone in phedes agreeing, mainly because anyone i find up here (there are still peoplem interested up here, they where supposed to come to gathering with me but couldent attend when i couldent afford to make it) would have no chance of getting in. i would say that people could hopefuly attend an even and show how they handle themselves.

i have no problem with this rule being applied for you guys in chester still, but my vote for this is no, purely for the reasons stated.

They can still get in once we have met them. THe point is at the moment they have to come to events before they can join, I dont think this is working.

right, ok, so if the group agrees they can join, but anyone from up here would still need to come to an event before joining, or meet the group in some other way, so put my vote to yes i guess.

Thats correct. Potentially once you get a few people in we are happy with then you could vet new members yourselves.

I assume that it is currently 2(Ian, Daz) voting for rule change, 1 (Josh????) against and 1(Mike) unsure but probably yes change it. Geoff has not voted yet.

Ill try talk to everyone Monday, if no one chirps up with a good reason not to change it then we can invite some of the new players who we like straight in.
