Shieldsright can who ever was looking at getting the materials to make the shields get on it so i can start making them. I gety paid on the fifteenth of april so thats when i can give my contribution to price.

Josh was having a look at that, not sure if he wants to carry on doing it.
Can everyone check their shields for damage. Geoffs has some damage to the latex but could be used again. The one I have has a lot of damage to the rim, can probably be repaired but is not safe as it is.

ill make the shields, or atleast make one for me to begin with but i have no idea where to bye the foam from. Or the latex for that matter. I definatly want a new shield for the GEF.
The shield i have at mine is fine. slight latex damage but nowt seriouse.
Ill set up a new thread with what i need and what ill be doing .

Eldrich sell some as do a company called trylon. Arco in Ellesmere Port sell the foam but I never got a response from them when I asked for prices. You can give them a go if you want.

Not really, I have some left but not much. A 5 litre bottle will probably be needed for the full set at a minimum.

Its not just you paying for it. Post the prices and the group will sort it out. Buy enougth stuff for 2 shields to start, one we have a spare core for and the knackered complete one.
Plus I get shield mastery at the next event and want to start with a new shield for that.

Following on from my experiences of painting latex white, which dosent work I have been looking at other ideas for the shield fronts. How about gaffa tape? You can buy it in white and people have been using it for years for latex weapons. Gaffa the front, glue the foam edgeing over it and the symbol(pre painted) onto the front and its good to go.
Any problems Ive not thought of?
All but one of the shields needs remaking before they can be used again. I have a shield so am not doing it. its up to you lot to sort it out, you can use my flat but you need to do the work and get the stuff. I also need some cash towards the latex that I bought.

Had an experiment yesterday and gaffered shields look much better then the latexed version. Seriously stands out
The current shields can be refitted with it quite easily but they do need stiffening up a bit. had a chat with Geoff and we think the easiest way would be to glue a section of ld45 to the front of the shield and the put the tape over that. It will stiffen them up quite a bit. Total cost will be 1 sheet of ld45 for 2 shields(about £6 + postage) and some evostick(£9 for a tin one should do all 4). Plus 2 rolls of gaffa tape (£3 each) and a small contribution to the latex fund as I bought it all and have had no money back from it. If all 4 are done it will cost you around £20.
These will need to be done for anyone going to the parliment.
