I emerge from this drenched in sweat and gasping for breath:

Hehe. Amusing. The URL isn't that long though, was the use of tinyurl necessary?

I just say as I really don't like click on tinyurls. Can't tell where I'm going.

I will point this out, A lot of people don't like clicking on blind links without some indication of where it is going, myself included.

If you're using Firefox, this add-on will help.

I'm interested by this attitude because my reasoning has always been that all links are blind links, simply because URLs don't necessarily reflect content. And any indication is always going to be a form of abbreviation, reinterpretation and reflect the interest and intent of the linker, and if you explain everything there is about the content then you might as well not link at all. So my introduction was as accurate an indication as any (although deliberately incomplete and suggestive for the sake of my own amusement, and hopefully others' as well). If people aren't happy taking a leap into the unknown and giggling at the result then I am happy for them not to click, because that's their prerogative.

Gileh: I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one then.

Agreed, everyone on this thread so far knows you personally, and it's up to them to decide whether they trust you enough to not forward them to something malicious.

C'mon people huge overreaction here, either click the link or don't click the link...

Generally speaking, it's just good Nettiquette, like spoiler blocking the end of a film if there are people involved in a discussion about it who may not have seen it, or not typing a POST IN CAPITAL LETTERS. I'm not particulary bothered by it, but still, not everyone who visits the forum knows you that well so it would be helpful to them to say 'this flash game is fun' or 'this video is fun' or similar.
dedindahed

Any version of nettiquette that ranks posting a tiny url to a flash game in a forum called online games as a worse crime than having a go at a friend for no good reason is, frankly, wrong...

Shocked

Dude, I think that you are the only person that thinks I'm 'Having a go'

I think I'm making a suggestion to a friend, who I know is perfectly willing to have a discussion about a point without taking it personally.
Gileh

Hey hey!

No-ones having a go. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and there are no hurt feelings.
