Warhammer players assemble! *New players too!*

Right so I'm planning at some point in the near future to restart my Warhammer fantasy game. A story so far thread will be coming soon but right now the most important thing is who is actually playing.

First refusal goes to the original players who are:

Aaron/Death Jester - Bardin the Dwarf
Dave/Deadindahead - Rudiger the Human
Wolves Matt - Oscar the Halfling (Who doen't die!!!! Ever!)
Nurse Matt - Kev (Am I remembering that right?) the Human
Bernard/Visitor Q - Falmaris the Elf

Now I'm guessing Visitor Q won't be making a comeback due to being elsewhere now, so there's at least one space. However I'd appreciate it if the other's (or if any of them aren't on these hallowed forums can somebody get a message to them?) So I know which players are coming back.

At the moment I'm leaving inviting new player in until I know how many spaces there are. If you want to show interest that's fine, but for now I won't confirm any spaces in the game until the older players have had their say. I aim for five players but may increase it to six depending on the amount of interest.

I'll quit rambling now.
Death Jester

You are correct! And Bardin is ready for action once more!

Okay all the old players have stated they want in. As some will have difficulty attending outside the club it will be at the club. It may be possible that I'll be able to work something out but we'll see.

In the meantime I've decided to have six players this time around (I can be meaner then see). So there's two slots open. Players coming in will need to bear in mind some things:

1) You will be playing with second career characters. For those unfamliar with the system this means fairly experienced but not big shots yet.
2)The newbies will be introduced through story. They can already know each other, but don't need too.
3) If you're unfamiliar with the Warhammer world it's worth letting me know so I can tell you enough for you to roleplay somebody with the right level of ignorance/innocence and paranoia/superstition to live in the old world. Razz
4)It's a very dark setting as many will already know. So it's an idea to approach it in a mature manner.

Anyway, who's interested?

I am interested, but am currently in Paz's D&D campaign (along with the two other Matt's) and it would be a nice change from D&D.

Couple of questions:
1) Does second career mean the second career can be advanced, or are we sticking to basic.
2) I only have the sourcebooks (1st and 2nd ed) in pdf form, if I get confirmed, should I order a hardback or just print some of the relavant bits?
3) My knowledge of the warahammer world is limited to those books, is that insufficient?
4) Would you like character concepts before you confirm players?

Know I'm not ideal, but I humbly submit myself to your wise judgement  Wink

Yeah as the other Matt's involved are in that game I will be either waiting until it wraps up, or running it when Matt (Paz) wants a break should that be the case.

Advanced is fine. The other players have basically just finished their first career and are moving into their second career. Effectively I'm giving new players an entire career's worth of experience to catch up.

I'm not going to ask that anyone have anything over than dice and a brain. Smile So it's down to your own personal taste. Printing relevant parts would be helpful as it frees up my book a bit.

That's fine. The books are designed to make even the most out of the loop ready to adventure in the Old World.

Since I'm adding the players to the group through story I'm going to waive my normal insistance on people rolling their starting career and working from there. It would after all be easier to work them in if I know about them when writing the adventure.

As for concepts before confirming I'm not going to demand it unless I get high demand. If that is the case I will pick the concepts that seem to fit the mood of the campaign and the party best.

So if you want to toy about with a concept at run it by me either in a PM or at the club feel free, but you're not expected to yet.

"Wise judgement".... oh dear, he's doomed. Razz

Maybe its best rolling more times, that way you wont be overly temped to give people awesome sauce careers that the players didnt get a chance to be first time round. Either that or think of three careers and give a choice, that way both of you have input and concepts can be worked from there.
Just brain meats talking again.

Well I've not set anything yet, but bear in mind they will have to pick a basic career to lead into the current second career , which will limit things. Nothings set in stone yet but your not going to see master wizards or the like popping up.

My main concern is getting an idea of who wants to join in first.
Fenix

Spoke to you on monday, but will register interest here to.

Btw, any idea when this is going to be played?
Kamikazegerbil

Not any definate idea yet, but will try not to delay it too much and will keep people posted.
