What's happening at the moment?Apart from the big move, what's happening at the club at the moment? I may get the chance to come along either tomorrow or next week (or maybe even both) - just wanted to check if there would be something for me to do.
Not ready to return on a permanent basis just yet...

I'm starting an intro (for me as well as everyone else) 4th Edition game (no spaces I'm afraid, unless someone doesn't turn up) should take about 4 weeks. How does that fit in with your plans?

Fair enough, I couldn't commit to a 4-week game anyway. In terms of my plans, I don't have any yet - I'm typing this one-handed, holding a crying baby in the other arm, for example...

There are about 6 of us currently playing board games (usually but not always split into two sets of 3) so if you wanna come along for a one off theres space for that...

We've just finished our game (me, matt, J and Mugz-E) so we'll be noard-gaming next week too, and probably until the shuffle (for which I have 5 GMs, plus a couple more willing to do things, so it should be EASY to organise next week)

in that case if anyone wants to run a quick role play I guess that could work too, but first there would need to be someone with a 1 night story in mind

I presently have a commitment to run a game for my RPG group Friday nights, but if I can fit another game into my repertoir I have a couple of options I've been considering for running at the club, both new RPG's.
Option 1: Eclipse Phase, a futuristic mostly hard-sci fi transhumanist roleplaying game where player character's conciousnesses are computer programs, able to back up, transmit, separate and "resleeve" into different bodies at will. Earth is a haunted technological wreck inhabited by the nightmarish legacies of the departed TITAN hypercomputers, and the rest of transhumanity is scattered amongst colonies throughout the Solar System.
Option 2: Shard. A classless fantasy game set on a world in which...bugger it, furries are the sentient species. It's high fantasy with an extremely strong middle Eastern/Indian flavour, with an emphasis on smaller stories; characters are presented with a myriad options to play anything from Holy Caste priests and scholars to the peasant inhabitants of villiages, so the focus can be whatever the players desire it to be. Definitely more grounded and lethal than D&D 4e, but there's plenty of scope for swashbuckling and magic if players desire.
I could do with getting a coherent and regular game running. If people like the sounds of either of the ideas above, let me know and we might be able to work something out.

It was good to see everyone again after such a long gap.
However, next time I might bring some simple flashcards summarising the recent events of my life so Jamie understands what's going on and why I haven't been around much lately.

Devise a short mime play that relates the last 8months of your life.

Believe me, that's not a mime you want to see.

Eclipse phase sounds interesting. The current story of golden axe should be reaching its end soon, so might be up for joining that.

Just a heads-up; there are now quick-start rules available for download, including an introductory adventure.
