I'll build a deck to try out tomorrow as well.  Annoyingly, one of my best decks has gone missing, so I suppose I can't just scavenge that for some of me 'a' commons and uncommons.

I have no problem with protections.  Though it can be easier to counter some than others.  Circle of Protection: Red can be a nightmare for mono-red decks, as red is not good at enchantment removal.

Shadow I don't see as a big problem, since they can't block to balance things out, and they can still be killed outside of combat.

Are we allowed to have sideboards at all?

Whoa!  Shocked

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I only ordered the cards today (Sunday) so I definitely won't have a deck for tomorrow, maybe next week? Depends on the post etc.

Of course this doesn't stop other people playing.

I haven't bought any cards for a sideboard yet, of course it may become necessary. I was just going to see how my deck worked out.

So to summerize peasant rules:
1. Deck must be 60 card minimum
2. Limit of 5 uncommons to a deck and no rares
3. If there is no rarity symbol on the card, check the gatherer database or something similar
4. Vintage legality otherwise
5. Sideboard of 15 cards allowed

Sound ok?

Same as last time I played magic, unless the rules have changed.  You can choose to mulligan if you like, but you draw 1 less card on the redraw.   Sad

Apparantly there was a demi famous instant at one tournament where 1 player mulliganed down to 4 cards, realised he wouldn't win.  So he mulliganed down to 1 card, and played nothing for that round, just drew up to his hand limit and resigned.  He then used what he saw his opponent play to sideboard his deck correctly, and won the next 2 to take the match  Very Happy

I put together a peasant deck over the weekend, which is a bitch if your collection extends back to the time when common/uncommon/rare information wasn't printed on the cards.

Will have it with me this evening.

I'll make one now. I also have cards which don't have the info on, and so are banned. But it should be do-able. I'll see if I can get some "proper" decks made too. It'll be fun!
