We are looking to get a level of interest for a rpg con in the last week of january first week of feb next year. We want to book a lodge for the con, this sleeps 8 people(2 doubles and 2 twins). We already have one couple coming.

Cost last year was £300 for the lodge, thats £37.50 each if it is full for 5 nights thats £7.50 per night per person. But we ahve to book it early as it will sell out. We will have to sort out transport closer to the time as it is in Bournmouth.

Tentativly who would be intrested?

Ian

I'm interested, but I'm anticipating February being a bad month for jaunts far from home.

http://www.conceptionuk.org/

Link for the homepage is above. Its not been updated yet for next years dates but it gives you an idea what we are talking about.

Its self catered so we generally cook at least breakfast and one meal a day ourselves. Games are £2 a session, 3 sessions a day so max £6 a day if you do every session, which you probably wont and if you cook for yourselves not much in food. There is a cafe thingy which isnt bad for snacks.

Its as much Jan as Feb. And you will be paying in september october if we are going for a lodge. You will just need food for you and petrol for the car you are going in.

They will also be looking for GM's as well if anyone is interested in running something. I will be running the Cthulu game that we finished off last monday.

The money thing I'm sure I could sort out in time, but January is likely to be much the same as February (not to mention it's Elliott's birthday on the 27th, so there may be days tied up either side of it to accomodate all the relatives).

The dates are on that page Ian:

All that remains to say is see you next year... 28 January 2009 until 1 February 2009 for Conception X!

Heather will be back at work (part-time) by that point, making it difficult (but perhaps not impossible) for her to come as it will be during term time. Hannah will be 15 months old by that point; what's the policy on small children?

To be honest I've not found the right time to mention it yet...

There were couples there last year with small children(prams). not sure its a good idea for whoever is looking after said small child to be playing a game though, not fair on the GM. You would also need a lodge as I wouldnt want to keep small child in one of the challets, which were a bit ropey. Think butlins with a cliff Smile
