A couple of almost identical free online games for you, where you build a small village up and defend it from other villages, forming alliances along the way. I'm not playing either at the moment, but if anyone else has any interest in doing so I'll probably join in. As far as I can tell, they both follow out commands you assign after you've logged out of the game (I suggest playing on the highest numbered, most recent, servers).
Travian - http://www.travian.com/
I've played this before - It's a neeat looking setting where you can play Gauls, Romans or Teutonics (that'd be 'Vikings'). Nice graphics, because they look like they're from Asterix. Not too taxing.
Tribal Wars - http://www.tribalwars.net/intro.php
As far as I can tell, this steals the same idea, but sets it in medieval times, with more gritty standard computer graphics.
Both of these I found at http://play-free-online-games.com/ but there are plenty of other sites to find these sorts of things - this one's just nicely presented.
Let me know if you find anything interesting! _________________ The absent Simon...

Legends of Elveron - http://www.elveron.com
Develop a fantasy kingdom or send adventurers off to do stuff. Can be played with up to five friends in a team.
Earth: 2025 - http://games.swirve.com/earth/
A game a little like Nationstates, but with more strategic, less dealing with amusing 'issues'... Best to sign onto the Alliance server if you want, well, alliances with other people from here... _________________ The absent Simon...
I've created Lokea on the Alliance Server - didn't see you there though...
Also found another good old site for games. No graphics at all, it's all based around text and stats, but that means it's quick to play and easier to get up on screen when you're supposed to be working. There are various games on the site - sign up for a free account and you can play any of them. I heartily recommend Gangwar, a turn-based game where you commit crimes and attempt to build your territory (if you've ever played the PBM It's A Crime you'll know how to play this)- it'll start up when enough players are signed up.As a strategy game it's very heavy on gang interaction, but with a few allied gangs (cough, cough) we might be able to get a slight advantage.
I'm playing the Breakerspace Empire in Space Conquest, and have signed up for Gang war 606 with the gang Breakers Pace. _________________ The absent Simon...
